Good morning/evening Fiitjee-ites
Imagine working very hard all throughout 11th and 12th to get 1 seat out of 1 Lakh seats, when more than 10 Lakh students are writing the exam,
Getting the seat into a medical college,
5 Years of MBBS
Then PG, and then finally, becoming a junior resident.
She is in the college where she works, so she feels safe, knowing she is inside a building where a lot of people roam around.
She calls her parents to tell them not to worry because she is inside the college and not roaming in the streets.
And the next day, her parents get the news that she is dead.
Why?
She was r@ped and murdered.
In her own second home.
She, a 2nd year resident of the college, has to pull 36 hour shifts and save lives.
And in return, she was brutally murdered.
All because she wanted some rest in the seminar hall.
On the next day, the media covered another incident.
In Uttarakhand, a nurse was r@ped and murdered.
This is a repeating cycle in India.
A shameful cycle of abuse and covering up.
We, rising citizens of India, must act to destroy this cycle of abuse and violence done against our sisters and daughters.
India lost a doctor,
A parent lost her daughter.
and her friends lost the light of their life.
All of us have used our Instagram and Snapchat to make fun of our friends. Lets, for a change, use our instagram and snapchat to show our solidarity with the R.G KAR college doctors and pressurize the government for swift and impartial justice.
